Lady Kougar results from the Portage HS Last Chance Indoor Track and Field Meet. 3200: 1st-Krista Sytsma-10:58.57,(INDOOR SCHOOL RECORD); Pole Vault: 1st-Haylee Hass-10-9, (INDOOR SCHOOL RECORD); High Jump: 3rd-Leah Hanselman-4-10; Shot Put: 3rd-Jackie Vander Woude-32-7.25; Long Jump: 7th-Sophie Singleton-16-1.75; Pole Vault: 7th-Jaslyne Robledo-8-0; 4x800 relay: 3rd-Grayce Stalbaum-Maddie Gray-McKinley Dresbaugh-Gwyn Radin-11:29.18; 4x200 relay: 7th-Singleton-Lindsey Crowley-Avery Diener-Elyce Gillette-1:55.71. Notes: Sytsma dominated the 3200, going out very strong in a 5:20 mile, and shattering her old indoor school record of 11:11.47; her converted time of 10:52.98 is currently ranked 8th in the state! Hass, remarkably consistent in a very difficult event, also broke her own indoor pole vault school record of 10-6, set two weeks ago. She tied her lifetime personal record (PR) as well , and is currently ranked tied for 9th in the state! Hanselman had another great high jump meet, tying her PR off the gym floor in her basketball shoes at 4-10! Thrower Vander Woude, improving rapidly, had a terrific shot put of 32-7.25, an overall PR! Freshman Singleton had a PR in the long jump, ran an excellent lead off 4x200 split leg of 28.5, and in her first ever 60 meter hurdle race was 10th in 10.84. Gillette ran a near PR 60 meter race of 8.34, good for 12th, and blazed a 26.9 4x200 relay split leg to reel in an opponent and get the heat win for her team. Three-sport star, and versatile one, Dresbaugh, ran an outstanding 2:45.1 4x800 split leg! Head Coach Lane Lewallen: "Another great meet for our girls!
